James B. Nash House
After the noisy, smoky sawmills were shut down, the river bluff along the former High Street became choice property. Here was assembled a collection of the finest early twentieth-century houses in town. It is now Third Street South, but still plainly means Quality Row.
James B. Nash, the son of T.E Nash (founder of Nekoosa Paper), followed his father into the wood products industry. His house, built before the Civil War and located at 530 Third Street South, was expanded at least five times.
