Stevens Point
Located in nearby Portage County, Stevens Point has long been known as the Gateway to the Pineries.
Incorporated in 1858 as a logging community, the town was named in honor of its founder, George Stevens. Today, Stevens Point remains an important part of the papermaking industry, although it has since grown to become one of the largest metropolitan communities in Central Wisconsin.
