Between the Bridges This route incorporates several riverside parks and also passes many of Wisconsin Rapid's finest old homes. For most of its length, it consists of sidewalks and may not be passable during snow season. This route uses the Jackson Street and Riverview Expressway bridges and the streets nearest the river form a loop. On the North end of the loop, you can follow 1st Street past the clock tower which overlooks the dam spillway. This loop is approximately 1.8 miles in length.

Wisconsin River Trail Enjoy the trail along the West bank of the Wisconsin River starting at Lyons Park, just south of the Riverview Expressway Bridge. This blacktop trail follows the river through Hanson Park to Boles Creek. Both parks have picnic and playground facilities. The distance from the bridge to Boles Creek is about one mile. From the bridge to the zoo and back is approximately 1.5 miles. For a longer walk, combine this trail with the bridge trail; they connect at the Riverview Expressway Bridge.

Nepco Road Nepco Road runs from 8th Street South (Hwy 13) to Griffith Avenue (County Z). If you enter from 8th Street, use the Nursery entrance. There is parking at the Griffith State Nursery. The road is narrow, winding, and tree shaded. Nepco Lake follows almost the entire length of the road, usually just out of sight. Please stay on the road and respect the privacy of this quiet neighborhood. The road is 1.8 miles long and is best walked without venturing on either Hwy. 13 or County Z, as both are rather busy.

Airport Trail This trail surrounding Alexander Field is over four miles in length. It meanders through wooded areas, across streams, and is abutting a lake area. The trail includes a view of Nepco Lake and wanders along the One Mile and Two Mile Creeks. Please park in the terminal lot, and keep all pets on a leash. Although it may sound funny, please give all aircraft the right of way.
