Located in Southern Wood County, 246 miles from Chicago, 158 miles from Milwaukee, and 178 miles from Minneapolis, the Wisconsin Rapids Area is made up of Wisconsin Rapids, Stevens Point, Port Edwards, Nekoosa, and Rudolph.
Wisconsin Rapids itself is located in the middle of the state along the banks of the hardest working river in the country, the Wisconsin River.
Lake Dexter Area
Lake Dexter can be found some 15 miles West of Wisconsin Rapids. Head West out of Wisconsin Rapids on Highway 73/13, and turn South onto Highway 80 at Pittsville.
Dexter Park, located on the Western shore of Lake Dexter, offers camping, a wild prarie area, snowmobile trails, swimming beach, and picnic areas. The lake is popular with bass and panfish anglers. Trout fishermen should head to nearby Northern Lynn Creek.
