Wisconsin Rapids Clock and Bell Tower
The Wisconsin Rapids Clock and Bell Tower is located near downtown Wisconsin Rapids at the corner of First and Baker Street.
Tower Text:
Dedicated to the earliest settlers, for their great efforts and the progress they and those who followed brought to this area, and to the Mead families for their continuous commitment to the beautification of our river banks and parks.
Dedicated to all of the Wisconsin military who have served since our statehood in 1845.
The clock and bell in this tower were originally located in the Grand Rapids City Hall at First and Baker Streets. Installed in 1892, the clock served the community until 1957 when the building was demolished. In 1981, an ad hoc committee was formed to raise funds for the restoration of the clock and bell and to provide a suitable tower. Built by private contributions, dedicated June 28, 1991.
