The Ahdawagam Trails are a combination of dedicated, paved, off-street trails and city streets where paint markings designate restricted bike lanes. The trail system encompasses approximately 25 total miles of trails.
This wide, paved trail starts where Highway 54 South and County W meet. Proceed North on the trail along 54. Just North of Washington Street, the trail passes under Highway 54 through a pedestrian underpass into Robinson Park. From the park, a paved sidewalk/bike path follows along the Eastside of the highway, over the railroad, and heads Northeast towards Biron.
The Red Trail begins at the boat landing in Ben Hanson Park. The paved trail runs along the Wisconsin River through Ben Hanson and Lyons Parks, passing under the Riverview Expressway Bridge. The trail follows First Avenue to Grand Avenue, across Grand Avenue Bridge and into Vetrans and Mead Rapids View parks. The trail continues North on the sidewalk along First Street.
The Green Trail follows the Riverview Expressway through the city on bike trail wide sidewalks. On the Eastside of the city (where County W and 54 South join), the Green Trail proceeds East into the town of Grand Rapids. The trail passes over the Wisconsin River on a sidewalk on the North side of the bridge. When on the Green Trail, stop off at Demitz Park located on the Eastside of the Riverview Expressway.
The Yellow Trail begins at Demitz Park on Third Street and runs to Two Mile Avenue, where it then joins the Airport Trail. You can proceed South on Sampson to Griffith and then East on Griffith to Nepco Lake Park.
The Blue Trail starts at the city's zoo on Gaynor Avenue. This paved trail follows an old railroad bed, passing through numerous wetlands and forest areas. Continue on to the South, and connect to other Wood County trails and the village of Port Edwards.
The Tan Trail forms a loop around the airport on the city's South side. Parking is available at the airport just off Two Mile Avenue. This trail is unpaved, passing through dense forests and over three creeks on dedicated trail bridges.
